Right, so imagine if the British Museum had a particularly twisted sense of humor and decided to curate an exhibition specifically designed to make visitors question their life choices—that’s essentially what A Strange Museum was, except in audio form and with significantly fewer security guards.
Five episodes of the Action Science Theatre team asking “What if we made something properly unsettling but still oddly charming?” Like wandering through a gallery where every placard makes you think “Wait, is that actually a thing?” and the tour guide might be having you on but you’re too polite to ask.
(The gift shop, naturally, was to be avoided at all costs—nothing good ever comes from museum gift shops.)
Dark comedy wrapped in the format of an audio tour, where each exhibit revealed something delightfully wrong with the world. The kind of place where you’d find yourself genuinely invested in the backstory of a seemingly innocent doorknob, only to discover it had witnessed three murders and a particularly awkward dinner party.
Please visit the museum. And don’t forget to avoid the gift shop.
This was a short run podcast I made with the same team behind Action Science Theatre, There are 5 episodes.
